SCT CD-ROM

Thursday, July 15th, 2004

SCT presentation CDThis was a simple presentation CD for SCT. The requirement was, that they must be able to edit the contents of the presentation themselves. Since most people don’t know about XML or HTML, I had to come up with a way for them to change the sturcture and content without typing markup tags manually. So I created an HTML and XML tree editor for them, but they still insisted I show them how to use it. Well, as it turned out, I left the company soon after that, and although I was willing to do it afterwards, it never happened.

Papilonija

Thursday, August 28th, 2003

PapilonijaThis is a 3D maze game that uses Renderspace’s nice 3D engine and it’s basically a first person non-shooter. You play the part of Papi, SKB’s mascot in the form of a piglet with wings, trying to collect enough money to buy a ball, a skate-board or a bicycle, while avoiding the city traffic.

I was just supposed to provide a simple Flash to count points, but in the end I had to handle the whole logic of the game based on the 3D engine’s collision messages.

At first, it was meant to be a CD-ROM and web based game, but there were so many problems with the 3D plugin and ultimately because Renderspace never renewed the plugin’s certificate, it was only done as a credit card size CD-ROM that was handed out as a present at the bank.

Net Perceptions Japan CD-ROM

Friday, November 9th, 2001

screenshotsNPJ was a company that developed a recommendation engine for online stores, call centers, etc. By the time Jan and I finished this promo CD, the company had already closed down.

The CD featured a nice intro with an ending that let you choose between the informative or interactive part. The latter was a game where you tried to recommend products to ppeople. The trick was that the same people appeared in different environments (at work, at home, partying, etc.), which meant you had to choose the right product for the person based on their current state of mind. It was supposed to make you appreciate the power of their intelligent recommendation engine.

Parsek Promo CD-ROM

Parsek promo CDThe Parsek Away Team in Japan thought it would be a great idea to have 300 or so copies of the yet non-existent Parsek promo CD sent over to Japan the next day. I remember giving up after working for 30 hours straight. Definitely not a nice way to treat your co-workers. Eventually, though, it was finished.
